Dr. Denise Mathre is native to this area, growing up just outside of Mokelumne Hill. She attended Moke Hill Elementary, Toyon Middle School and Calaveras High School. A knee injury while playing high school basketball is what convinced her to pursue a career in chiropractic. She was mentored by Drs. Stuart in West Point, encouraging her to attend Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, OR. She graduated with her D.C. (doctor of chiropractic degree) in December 1996.
Dr. Denise knows that she’ll never be done learning and actively engages in advanced leadership training and continuing education courses throughout the year. She has a hunger for information and is constantly reading and researching out the most current health and wellness information available.
She loves working with people of every generation, but especially pregnant moms and families; helping the next generation get a great start to life. She’s certified in Webster’s In-Utero Constraint Technique and has helped many moms achieve a natural birth where they were headed for intervention with breech baby presentations. She’s also taken many hours of post-graduate education in pediatrics, caring for the particular needs and stresses of our early developmental years.
In her time out of the office you can find her caring for her home, garden and many rescued critters including goats, sheep, cats and dogs. She enjoys most outdoor activities, spending time with friends and family, and riding her motorcycle on our quiet country roads (Its been a while though as her motorcycle melted in the Butte fire). She’s also an avid scrapbooker and card-maker whenever she gets the time.

Dr. Erin Cox was raised in a small town in Florida, right next to where the Space Center is. Watching the space shuttle and rockets launch on a regular basis instilled a great curiosity in science in her from a young age. After being involved in a car accident when she was 8, she started receiving chiropractic care and learning through her Chiropractor the basic idea that our bodies are meant to be self-healing if there is nothing impeding the message pathway between the brain and the body. Later, after receiving her bachelor’s degree at the University of South Florida, she came out to California to attend chiropractic school at Life Chiropractic College West, graduating with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2013.
Dr. Erin moved to Amador County while pregnant with her wonderful daughter, Paige, in 2015 in order to be closer to family. She has since fallen in love with the area and the people who live here and can’t imagine living anywhere else.
Dr. Erin absolutely loves to learn and attends continuing education classes regularly to help further her knowledge and add new skills. She is currently certified in Webster Technique, which helps to balance out the pelvis in a pregnant woman, allowing her body to correct many issues such as pain, breech presentation, as well as simply creating a perfect and connected environment for her baby to properly develop. She enjoys taking care of people of all ages, from newborn babies to the elderly, people with conditions such as Parkinson’s and scoliosis, athletes, as well as people wanting to add chiropractic as part of their wellness plan for keeping their body as healthy as possible.
You will also find her English Mastiff, Charlie, roaming around the office….looking for treats or a free hand while you are lying on the adjusting table so you can pet him.
